Star Citizen is a PC space sim and massively multiplayer game in development by Cloud Imperium Games under the leadership of Chris Roberts. It's based upon its own StarEngine—a high-end spinoff of Amazon's Lumberyard & Crytek's CryEngine—around a shared universe centered in the Stanton system, with seamless movement between space, atmosphere, and planet surfaces.

The game is still in active alpha testing, and gameplay elements like exploration, mining, trading, and combat are being introduced through regular updates.

Its single-player companion title, Squadron 42, is a cinematic narrative as a UEE Navy pilot within an epic military saga. Squadron 42 reached feature-complete in late 2023 and will ship before Star Citizen 1.0 completion.

Both titles are set to provide a unified, immersive sci-fi experience with flight simulation, first-person gameplay, and large-scale narrative complexity.
