What began as an isolated incident quickly spirals into something far more disturbing.

A dangerous situation unfolds at a remote station, drawing the attention of a team of biologists tasked with investigating a possible virus — or something far worse: a XEN-Infection. But the case takes a strange turn when a Civil Protection officer receives a mysterious VHS tape… one that should be terrifying, yet leaves him completely unfazed.

As events move to City 17, the situation only grows more unstable. The Combine remain focused on the rising unrest, largely ignoring the emergence of a new biological threat known as GENESIS. Yet the infection continues to spread in the shadows. A newly transferred Civil Protection officer, Unit 21, is briefed on the virus — unaware of how deeply the crisis will reshape the city.

With the uprising reaching its peak, the truth behind the infection becomes even more unclear. Is the virus truly understood, or is something else at play? And who is the mysterious figure hidden behind a gas welder’s mask?

The outbreak is far from over.
