I've rarely experienced a story that has hit closer to home than this. As a young trans woman in Ireland, I feel like I've heard word for word the same things uttered Kasio's mammy, and that added to the story tenfold. The experiences with all of her friends felt incredibly real, too. I also appreciated having a story based in a place and culture so familiar to me. As far as narrative games go, this one had a really unique interactive touch that drew me in further. Not to mention how beautiful and touching the art is! By the end, I could cry no more tears. Please play this game.

I can't even begin to state how much I enjoyed my time with this game. Perfect length and massive value for money. The game is challenging, engaging, full of gorgeous scenery and lovable characters. The soundtrack is full of bangers, the world-building is exceptional, and I was constantly amazed by how many hand-drawn animations and cutscenes there were. The manga panels were truly inspired.

If I had to point out some flaws, early on the backtracking can be a little painful until you unlock the ability to teleport, and even then you have to go through a couple loading screens. Also, the difficulty spikes very high at points. However, clearing those bosses felt amazing in the end.

Please, if you liked Sekiro or Hollow Knight, or even both of those games, you have to play Nine Sols.

Very fun if you want to kill time for 10 minutes or up to a couple of hours. Challenging, exciting, and pretty decent all around.

An excellent reconstruction of the RPG genre, using charming elements from Earthbound/Mother, and other JRPGS. Both heartwarming and gut-wrenching, the story is gripping and deep. There are multiple endings to experience, and each playthrough is different from the next. The combat is a mixture of classic turn-based RPG, where you can choose the SPARE instead of FIGHT, and bullet hell. Indeed, the ability to show mercy to enemies is what makes this game different from other RPG games out there. While later sections of the game do suffer a lapse in pacing, the final portions of the game are very worth it. Seriously, give Undertale a try. It's uniqueness definitely deserves it.
