Mhh.

It looks great, but I just thought of "Deadlight" the whole time while playing it. There is no real exploration and the combat is pretty simplistic. Attack, dodge, counter, attack till gun is full, shoot, repeat. Another weird thing are some design choices, while the character can dodge in fights in can only walk slowly in the sniper evasion sequences, pretty weird.

Let's see how the final game is and (most importantly) what the price tag will be,

I have a few thousand hours in Tarkov before I got really fed up with the game and BSG. With that out of the way, this game is fun. It really is a good replacement, it's free and fun, the guns are cool, the maps are nice, everything is a bit more "arcadey" but that is actually a plus. The whole inventory management and how you get ready for a raid is actually better than Tarkov (or at least back when I played it). I don't mind the "mobile game" stuff like dozens of different currencies and tasks spread out over a bunch of different pages. So yeah, it's a lot of fun.

Edit: A few more hours in I really like it even more. Dividing new and sweaty players with the different levels for the Maps is a really good idea and over all there are so many QOL improvements over Tarkov, it's just easier to start a new Raid right away instead of having to click for ages in your inventory or the market. Also have not met any cheater yet, all deaths were legit as one can see in the killcam. Which is an amazing feature to have.

Zero depth to the mechanics. Looks cool, but that is not enough for me.

What a blast. Very creative and competely absurd little jump and run adventure about a yellow guy who can only jump and punch. And I think I punched absolutely everything in this game. Totally recommend.

The game is not hard, it's broken. Exploration is fun, boss fights are fun, but the normal enemies just make everything a slog. I guess towards the end of development a bunch of nolife Hollow Knight players playtested Silksong, considered it to be too easy and this is where things went wrong. The world is littered with tons of annoying flying enemies with stupid movement and attack patterns that always move away when you move closer. Every slightly bigger enemy tanks damage like crazy. Two-mask-damage was reserved to special attacks of large bosses in Hollow Knight, now lots of normal enemies can double damage you or do crazy combos, all while your stuck with five masks for ages and healing only restores three. I'm still playing it because of the positives I mentioned, but a lot of the time the game feels like an unnecessary chore. The system with two currencies doesn't help either.

Edit: After installing some mods and slightly tweaking the game (no double damage, attack power multiplied by 1.5) the game is sooo much better. If you're stuck, go get some mods. Don't overdo it so it's still challenging, but it just really takes the edge off. Switched my review to positive because of this.

Early Access Review
Tons of content, fun and polish for an F2P game in Early Access. I really like it, will be a good game to relax with for an hour or two in the evening. I also really like the aspect of climbing and verticality, adds another dimension to the map.

Biggest gripe I have is that it does not run on the Steam Deck, would be the perfect game for it.

Great game, exactly what I needed. I am a big Soulsborne fan, but Elden Ring turned out to be too massive/openworld for me. Lies of P is amazing in that regard, I really like the linearity of the levels. Combat and enemies are fun, the world looks great, weapon crafting/assembling is also fun. Overall a bit on the "easy" side, did not yet encounter a boss that was really hard, but I do like that as well.
If you are looking for a Soulslike that you can play through even with little time and a busy life, this is it.

Lovely game, a great mix of Zelda exploration with Twin Stick Shooter mechanics. Not too hard although some of the secrets are pretty random/hard to find. Overall really enjoyed it, great fit for the Steamdeck.

Great game, heavily inspired by Dark Souls, Zelda and all the Metroids. I love the world and atmosphere, mechanics and boss battles are challenging but never too hard. Really recommend it, only gripe so far is the constant back tracking (that is optional though). Plus, kudos for having an NPC that tells you about secrets you missed, really like this feature.
