It's only $5, but the game feels very unfinished. If it was marked as Early Access, I'd probably be more lenient. The artstyle could be neat, but the world isn't very self-coherent. There is basically zero content: two levels, a handful of objectives therein. We were getting repeats of the procedural missions by the time we unlocked the second character, which is the only major unlock in the entire game.

Bookworm Adventures if it was Cool :b1:
I'll often try to play one quick game over lunch, and then another.... The characters, art, and music are all fun to think about. It's a very impressive game and well worth $20 imo.

The Good
* Neat graphics
* Great shooter gameplay from the studio that made The Finals

The Bad
* Voices and writing are even worse than other AAA games. There are lengthy cutscenes that say nothing. Weird stretch artifacts? in voices that somehow sound worse than regular genAI.
* The game will be less chill if you play with friends. As a rule, other players are more violent when queueing with a team, but are timid when queueing alone. The more I play, the more teams of players seem to just shoot on sight.

Verdict
I'm fascinated by the game and it's a little addictive. But I only seem to have good interactions with other teams when playing alone: queueing as a 3-stack will convert the game into a shoot-on-sight deathmatch.

It's a short and sweet boss rush of Fromsoft's classics.

With 3 casual players in voice chat, it wasn't hard to knock out the whole game in a week of evenings. Ranged characters are overpowered because some enemies can outpace melee characters: their stagger times were shorter than the time it takes to cross the distance to hit them.

No major complaints; elden ring coop was already fun, and this "Majora's Mask + Fortnite"-styled thrifty sequel improved greatly the relatively poor online experience from previous games.

Early Access Review
While initially promising, the game is languishing in an unfinished state while the developers add expensive cosmetics. Basic features like the tutorial are still incomplete. The cosmetics add multiple GB of updates with no new gameplay, not even any that you can pay for.

My friends and I were impressed by the audio tech and graphics, but found the game repetitive after the first few hours. The balance is wild; other reviews agree that the recent (tiny) rebalance patches didn't help much.

Absolutely deserves the "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews.

Similar to Fire Emblem and other tactical games, with a hair of Frozen Synapse. I found it just a little easy and more on the puzzley side of tactics. All of the defenestrations you expect from the minds behind Gunpoint and Heat Signature.

The dialog and scenario is Just Okay, but I was deeply invested in all of the characters by the end and sad to see them go.

Patrick is not the name of the box. It's the guy who made the game.

I was surprised at how good the game is.

It's a 4-player coop roguelike with no microtransactions. Each run, everyone will buy tools to exfiltrate more Scrap items from the dungeon while minimizing death to monsters and hazards. Even the joke cosmetic items often have strategic value, so it's always fun to see what impulse buys get you.

But it is confusing: you'll need a helpful friend or to read the wiki if you want to survive for very long.

Exactly the right length, density, and difficulty. BRC is more playable and more fun than the game it's supposed to be cloning.

Although marketed as a Portal clone, this game focuses more on easy puzzles with aspects of 3D Platforming. The timing required for the puzzles sometimes feels a little too tight to me.

The new Flag Run mode is a nice 3D platforming diversion that imo could easily be the focus of the entire game. However, it's currently missing leaderboards in its early access state.
