Early Access Review
I love games that are a mile wide and an inch deep. Dune spice wars tries this, but doesn't go wide enough nor deep enough.

The combat is between passable and bad.
Expanding in the early game is good. But this gets worse as the game goes on.
Fliers are in the game. These are mixed as well. Good if the enemy has no range attacks. Also they don't do much damage against harvesters so harassment isn't really a thing.
Conquest mode is neat except it is 3 of 5 factions in play. Soon to be 3 of 6.
Some conquest mission types just take too long in time commitment.
The games can last way too long and do not respect your time.

Hi There,

Sorry you didn't enjoy your time with the game!

To address some points though:
- There is intentionally less focus on combat in the game due to it being a 4X, with an emphasis on diplomacy, subterfuge and less direct confrontation.
- The next house will be playable in conquest, but there are other plans for Fremen and Smugglers for this mode, which is why they didn't make the cut for the playable factions.
- We are looking at balancing conquest onjectives and map sizes to ensure that they result in a better player experience with less "grind"
- And finally, you can adjust the speed settings for the game in the top left corner, if you weren't aware, which can drastically increase the speed of each match.

Shout me if there's anything I or we can do to improve your experience, we're constantly looking for ways to improve the game so any feedback would be appreciated!

Thanks for that.

I know there button to increase time, and I have used it, but that doesn't solve the problem. The game is at a decent pace at the start of the game. But as time goes on, the authority cost increase is enough to slow the game way down. And before you go answering, yes, I know there is tech to reduce that cost. No, it still slows the game down.

Speeding the game up is a solution, but not quite a great one. Because that means combat is also increased in speed and the time you have to respond to certain events is lessened. And this shouldn't be needed for only parts of the game where it slows way down. Games shouldn't get slower towards the end.

As for this being a 4x with less focus on combat. Yes, that is my complaint. You put RTS combat in a 4x game but in such a way it feels like it was done in a shallow way. It isn't good.
