Not sure at all why Actibungie wanted reviewers to wait until Cryo Archive like it was gonna be an entirely different mode (like a Destiny raid), it's just another PvPvE map with extra steps.

So... $40 dollars for 4 maps, generic gunplay (boy, do I love bullet spongey AI!), story that doesn't follow the source material, usually horrible random teammates, a ton of reused mechanics and animations from Destiny 2, visual vomit artstyle + fontslop, and a half good and other half earache-inducing soundtrack? HELL NO!

This is another trend-chasing game only for bored people or D2 players. If it were actually good, it would've been Marathon 4 and would've been faithful to the original trilogy and carried off of them, being a campaign-centric game with an esoteric and badass story and a multiplayer added to it.

Instead, Actibungie is chasing the extraction shooter trend because they were too late to hop on the battle royale one and are gonna lazily pull the alternate timeline stuff from Infinity to excuse the massive amounts of retcons they've already made to the original story and visuals. So yeah, don't waste your money on this garbage. Actibungie hasn't changed at all, they just want to squeeze all the money out of you again, just like Destiny 2.

The following literally happened just a few minutes ago as of writing this:

I got blown up by a modder and lost all of my acid, then got ♥♥♥♥ talked by two people (I'm now sure one of them had to have had the mod menu) because I was telling another guy who was trying to blow me up in a Sparrow before I died to the modder to ♥♥♥♥ off, ♥♥♥♥ talked them back way harder since I'm not a ♥♥♥♥♥ and I'm obviously not gonna take that ♥♥♥♥ from absolute losers, then I left the session to join the other session that my friend was in, and then I got my voice chat banned for two days.

Yes, It was only for 2 days, but the fact that I am the one that got in trouble, regardless of what I said, (which was admittedly very profane, but this is literally a rated-M game, you need to grow the ♥♥♥♥ up, Rockstar) is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ RIDICULOUS. I actually got voice chat banned just the other day for 1 day too, and guess what? That ban was ABSOLUTE BS too! I was literally defending myself and other people in the lobby from griefers, and I'M THE ONE WHO GETS VOICE CHAT BANNED.

I am probably going to submit an appeal after posting this review even though I know the answer that I'm likely gonna get from some automated bot BS, but I am obviously ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ livid over the fact that I lose my money AND get punished. This game and company needs to be boycotted. This is absolutely not okay and completely unfair. Rockstar, get your ♥♥♥♥ together and give me an actually good reason to reinstall this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ if this is how you want to treat people like me.

Seriously though guys, come on. You spent all this time just to make the same thing every other lazy triple-A dev is doing? Y'all aren't even triple-A devs, why are y'all actively trying to be one and chase trends?? Hell, it would've been so much easier AND profitable for y'all to have just made something more akin to Bungie's Halo games in progression, customization, and gameplay. No way this game isn't gonna die in a few weeks.

Still, y'all could salvage this. Refund everybody who bought any microtransactions, remove the dumb ability system, raise TTK (add shields) and lower movement speed, make armor as customizable as possible (also try to design everything better, armor's so neon and it looks like the ♥♥♥♥ that 343i makes), remove the battle pass system, and finally, implement a Reach-style progression system. It's not rocket science, just do what Bungie did when they made Halo, and DON'T take inspiration from CoD or any hero shooter anymore. Now THAT should be a good start for y'all. Please just do this, or this game's gonna die.

Also, please stop making the bots look like real people. I don't know what y'all are trying to play at with that, but it was just like that in the first game and it makes y'all look even more dishonest. Why try to hide it anyway? They're clearly bots, just put a bot tag on them or something.

Edit: Yup. Their big reveal was... a battle royale. Woooow, sooooooo groundbreaking, soooo awesome, soooo unique, the gaming industry totally needed that! It's totally not like these guys just want to milk us for all the money they could get for the least effort possible, nooooo totally not! Guys, don't you remember when Titanfall 2 and Halo had BR?? Man, that was so awesome guys!!!! Ugh.
