Bottom of right trackpad not responsive to touch
Hello,

I discovered this issue on 19th/20th October and after creating a post here (deleted for don't know what reason) and creating a request, I haven't received any response from Valve (in almost a month!!) and the issue has not been resolved through firmware updates. And as far as I know, everyone with the controller has this issue (so far, me and two friends). Do you guys have it?

Mine has a dead zone right next to the Y and B face buttons — I assumed this was because when pressing a face button, my thumb ever so slightly grazes the trackpad. I'm guessing it's to avoid accidental trackpad input, and might even be able to customize that. If you've got dead zones other than that I'd try to contact Valve.

Truth, I'll remove the other post and copy your reply here below, so we can continue only on this post (didn't notice it was duplicated)

The problem is not the controller, the problem is the process by which you are testing it.

Not the whole surface of the touchpads is supposed to work, there is an outer small circle in which it doesn't work, when you sliding your thumb across to the outer circle the surface of your thumb in contact with the touchpad is big and part of it touch the interior of the inner disk so that's work, but you will see that past that circle the point on the touchpad doesn't continue to go down, it won't go further. Then when you tap, the surface of your thumb in contact with the touchpad is much smaller, so if it's in the outer circle there is less chance that part of that surface is in contact with the inner disk, that's why it doesn't work (that also why sometime when you tap harder it works). The reason you think it only doesn't work in the bottom part is because your brain is biased into thinking that your thumb is a point and that the only the top part of it is in contact with the surface, that's why in the top and left and right part of the touchpad your thumb hit but on the bottom it doesn't.

In short your controller is fine, you are just not using it right.

However, I still doubt you are right. At the moment, I don't notice the reason for that different behaviour between left and right trackpads.
I think all controllers are like that because mine does the same.
