'watch game' rewinds broadcast after 30-45sec.
Since a few hours ago, opening a friends chat window> Right click > Watch game > wait for load- after 30-45 sec, the broadcast resets with 1 'Stall Event'.

The broadcast does work if you use the Steam main window and not the friends chat stream, but you obviously can't browse the store or Steam community or Library tab if you keep it up that way.

1: Anyone else experiencing this?
2: Any estimated time for a fix?

Steam has already destroyed the watching through friends chat window with a mandatory, non-removable delay (yeah really preventing this stream sniping in those.... city builder single player games - good job Steam!...) So I'm concerned that this isn't an "accidental breakage" but more a 'you'll just have to deal with it'.

Same here; quite annoying!
Has been happening to me as well. I used to use the https://exit.yueirsjskjl.cf/broadcast/watch/<id> on my web browser because I'd preferred that until yesterday, but now I'm forced to use the Steam UI/main window. Unfortunately, this still isn't the end of my bad luck, because it turns out, in some cases, even the Steam main window loops and just doesn't progress the broadcast further.
Started happening to me recently as well (about a week ago, when I bought Crimson Desert). Was a fine alternative to stream to a friend who doesn't want to go through discord.

Thought it had something to do with an Nvidia update but turns out it's just steam itself. Uninstalled and reinstalled steam and still happening.

The delays were manageable however this completely breaks the whole thing.
This has been happening for many days. Very annoying.
Having tested some more, the issue seems related to the "host" (viewable in technical stats.) Any time it's that "Host: steambroadcast.akamaized" it's perfectly fine in both friend chat window and in this main steam window.

Any time it's "Steamcontent" it's extremely dodgy and shifty.

I've only noticed "Steamcontent" hosting the streams since the last 2 weeks or so, and the issues started a few days ago.

If Steam has indeed changed host - for whatever reason - and this is indeed permanent, the issues may not be going away.

I'll give it a few more days to see if they fix it, but I'm not holding out any hope as the issue has not been fixed after two days. - if indeed, it's broken at all, and not an "Upgrade".

I can always spend my money elsewhere and do other things with my friends after all.
I have my stream always on and I tried various things to troubleshoot what's wrong with it. It all started for me since the 1st of april too.

It seems that you can no longer use any other browser apart from the steam client browser to see these streams without constant 30 seconds loops.

To be exact, open a browser window in steam and use the : https://exit.yueirsjskjl.cf/broadcast/watch/[your or your friends steam64ID]
Well that isn't true, I'm watching my friend through the chat window right this very second (as of writing.) and it's akamaized as the host, and it's functioning as it should.

It's only when it's Steamcontent dot com which isn't functional.

It also doesn't look like users would have the choice to choose which hosts their broadcast would end up in. Is anyone aware whether the steamcontent hosts were used earlier as well? I'm aware that akamaized were indeed being used earlier but this is the first time I'm coming across steamcontent in broadcasts.

I disagree. I tested several of my friends streams just now. they all had steamcontent in streaming stats and they were working fine. Same as mine. As long as I used the steam browser or watch game feature.

They indeed no longer work on any other 3rd party browsers that I've tried: Brave, Opera, Chrome, Edge.

Mind you I did a lot of cache clearning for steam before this and even reinstalled it all-together, as well as restarting my router and flushed dns. No idea if that made any difference, but all I'm saying it's working for me even with steamcontent host.

Indeed, I don't get a choice which host I get given, when I get my friends broadcast invite, it randomly chooses, it seems to pick Steamcontent in the morning hours (UK time, 7 AM onwards. until 1-2 PM.) then it picks Akamaized after 2 PM. until some unknown time where it must shift back, as I go to bed around 10 PM. and it runs Akamaized up until 10 PM. (again I specifically state the core point: I can not choose, I may just have gotten "Lucky".)

The looping problem only happens on Steamcontent and only on the friends chat window. Which is my preferred method of watching.

Both Steamcontent and Akamaized work on the client broadcast page.

Well, have them try on your friend window. - Steam client, not website. Open a chat with you, right click your name, watch game, watch via the friend window.
I'm not denying it works with broadcast tab (some others in the post have said it doesn't work for them, which means it's a problem which needs solving.)

Some personal reasons that I do *not* like the user interface of the broadcast or inability to do anything else with the main client page. which having it on the friends chat window gives me.

I've used it for years and I'm already long upset with Steam for removing the "Old" broadcast, which had no delay built in. The main friend I watch has gotten used to the delay, but it disrupts the flow of game play, especially on RPGs or story based games, etc, to an extent that it's "tolerated" rather than enjoyed.
I'm facing another issue even on the Steam window (not the chat Window, but the main broadcast window). Sometimes, the video just stalls (which is fairly common). Earlier it used to recover on its own but that doesn't happen now. Back when the browser client worked, I could just refresh the page. Worst case scenario, I could just clear cache and hard refresh and it'll load. Now, when it does load, it starts from the very beginning i.e. if I first loaded at time X min Y seconds, I spent about 1 min and then stalled and I refreshed, the stream doesn't begin from X+1 min Y seconds. It starts from X min Y seconds again!

The most flabbergasting part? This sometimes happens on the Steam main Broadcast window! So once this happens, there's basically no way to recover but stop viewing the stream for some time such as a few minutes (I'd imagine it'll invalidate the Steam main window's caching, if it does any), and then start viewing the broadcast again. Just pray that your broadcast doesn't stall again, or if it does, manages to somehow recover.
Yesterday evening, for me, there were a lot of stall and breaks, having to get re-invited.
if this information helps you feel as if it wasn't 'just' you, then I'm glad.

Today the "Steamcontent" also doesn't load properly (again, morning time in the UK.)

It just seems Steam doesn't give a single "~@* at all, which is sad because it's a legitimate issue for people, nor have I seen any signs they're attempting to fix this. In-fact, given the date - April 1st, when it all changed, including the UI changes to Steam which happened on the same date, I'm even beginning to believe they've broken it intentionally or 'improved' it.

Sorry to hear you're having your own issues too, and they (Steam) just seem to be getting worse, I have no solution for you, my only conclusion with more testing is that it's the host. but even that's tentative as best.

For myself the solution is simple: I can just go do something else with friends; it's the only tool I have, and no, I make no pretence it will hurt Valve in activity or in monetary values if I leave the service to go do something else, nor do I claim such. I'm just fully aware that even the few people who have posted in here, and the others who are having issues with the broadcast probably aren't a large enough % for Steam to bother fixing the issue.
I have this happen in the browser _and_ in the Steam window. Very annoying.
Hey I've been playing and had an issue where the game didn't reload my lost items after I returned home. I was regenerating my health in a tub but still was losing health and the items I picked up were wiped from the game, there was tin ores a few items from areas just outside the demo line and lots of wood, tools and other things I'd gathered. Usually they spawn an icon on the map so you can restore them but not only was I in the home area but the icon didn't show up ( I think it's a bug or a moderator messing with my gameplay due to being too close to the demo line). Also there was a bug where my ingredients chest lost all stored items when I tried to move it and the chest still exists in the original spot just can't interact with it at all.
