Dear players,
You probably have all noticed that the spawnmenu (this thing[i.imgur.com]) on our servers has a lot of empty icons or rather missing icons. So in an effort to provide you with a better user interface experience, we will now be receiving icons that you submit. You can submit your icons to me via Steam or via Discord (Earu#0001).

The conditions for your icon to be added are the following:
- The item does not already have an icon
- The image must be at a size that is of the power of 2 (512, 1024, etc...)
- The image must of .png format
- The image must not be scaled down/up from a different ratio, if you need your image to be smaller crop it, if you need it to be bigger you can use this website[waifu2x.udp.jp].
- The image ratio must be 1:1

We are looking forward to see what you come up with!

Winter is the season where people all over the world start to reflect on the year that is about to end soon. Together with our friends and family, it's that time of the year where we're all reminded that the most precious thing in the world is the time with our beloved ones.

It seems like after more than 2 years since the last time we are also close to approaching three thousand members this time.
Oh, what a magical time!

We also prepared a new badge for this christmas that will be given out to everybody who joined before and joins during christmas, so be sure to grab it quickly before the time runs out...

Lastly, many thanks to the entire Meta Construct team and the active players who still keep the server alive and running. Times are changing, so are the people and their environments. Some traditions remain, and thusly,

Side node: This year we had a test-run with 15 physical post cards featuring the design above. If there is enough demand, we might plan ahead for 2019 and offer these to everybody! *wink wink*

Votekick Abuse Bannable

Dear players,

it has come to our attention that the votekick system is facing abuse by some players.
While it should be obvious, that abusing the system, even as a joke, is not something we like to see, because it makes the moderation and some internal review processes harder, we haven't done anything about this so far.
This has to change, and thusly, I'm posting the following piece of information for your consideration:

The votekick system is only there to resolve issues with abusive players in case no admin is there or the !report message either does not lead to a solution or there is something going on that requires immediate steps (e.g. prop-spammer that is about to crash the server).

All uses of the system need to have a descriptive (and real) reason.
Short reasons like "laggy dupe", "prop spam", "harassment" are acceptable for now, as they give enough information during a quick look at the log.

The following (anonymized) recent votekick reasons are provided as an example for what we will, from now on, consider abusive (and bannable):

On August 1st 2016 it was discovered that servers run by Hexahedron (formerly known as "HexaHedronic") were and still are using non-public Meta Construct content without permission. An investigation concluded that Meta Construct developer Flex (also known as "LUModder") was responsible for illegitimately providing the above-mentioned content to their servers.

Developers were kicked and/or banned from their servers during the examination. These obstructions have been interpreted as an admission of guilt.

This is the latest in a long line of missteps Flex has made, including:
- threatening to leak and facilitating the leak of Meta Construct content
- repeatedly abusing both his lua developer and administrator rights for his own and/or his friends' advantage
- banning players for petty reasons such as disagreeing with his friends, appealing other players' bans and using the same nametag color as one of his friends
- IP and permabanning Krakatoa$upportUSA while under an agreement to suspend his administrative rights, demonstrating a total lack of self control and integrity

As a result, Flex is hereby relieved of their developer position at Meta Construct effective immediately (August 3rd 2016). Flex may undergo the developer application process again, if he wishes to restore his position.

G'day all,

While I understand the culture of Meta Construct, it seems to making it's way into the forums as a way to abuse people without the fear of getting banned. That's never been the case, and will be cracked down on now.

Flaming Other Users

While we're happy for people to post useless shit and discussions in the Meta Construct Steam Group. It seems that the majority of posts are shitposting and posts designed to flame or insult other users.

As a reminder, by posting on Steam Group Discussions, you are bound by the Steam Subscriber Agreement and Steam Online Conduct.

Things such as defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten or otherwise violate the legal rights (such as rights of privacy and publicity) of others, is a Steam Community bannable offence, not just the Meta Construct group.

As a result of the constant flaming posts, this will result in actions taken against you including but not limited to deleted posts, forum bans, and reported to Steam.

Posting in the Proper Sub-Forum

Please ensure you post in the correct sub-forum. We have the following sub-forums:

General Discussions: For anything and everything else, useless shit, slabs of text, off topic. Note: This is not for flaming, and is purely a discussion for the normal Meta Construct sillyness.
BAN / UNBAN REQUESTS: For ban requests and unban requests only; posted by the reporter or banned user. Constructive discussions and feedback is accepted, as long as it is not flaming and adds to the decision process. Not adding useful contributions may result in moderation action.
Sincerely, a concerned citizen: Developer votes and constructive comments on voting.

2000 Members!

Yep, you heard it, two thousand. Quite an achievement I should say!

It's been almost 2 years since we reached we reached a thousand member milestone and the time flew like crazy, it is 2016 already. Geez... Meta is really becoming old...

Since then, we got a pretty nice gray looking website thanks to ukgamer. We also have an IRC server hosted by the amazing Threekelvin, thanks to Techbot and PotcFdk. We also had some new servers that lasted for a short while.

We underwent some new drama and map changes but that is now a common thing, srvaddons commits keep rising as usual, new people come by and get pissed because they cant find the weed dealer npc, players keep minging around, pac still lags the shit out of everyone, server still crashes whenever it feels like....

Stuff might have changed but it still feels like home.

We also prepared a new badge for the group milestone so be sure to grab it quickly before the time runs out...
