I started with just the beta, but recently upgraded because I couldn't resist free updated content for life.

Hello those damn Call of Duty n00bz pay $60 for 5 maps and a new gun in quarterly installments. GalCiv3 wtih all the expansions is at least worth while

You get
* Alpha Access
* Beta Access
* Name a Star
* All DLC and expansion packs for GalCiv3

The last one should make the cost worth while given the DLC and expansion plans

I'd really like to, but $60 just for earlier access and naming a star is steep.

All the more reason to get the Elite version Matrix!

Q3 2014 is the 'preliminary' plan but if something happens during the Alpha that date can shift significantly. I wouldn't hold your breath on that date. As anyone in the software industry will tell you every game has their own "Valve Time"

Very hard to say, I would say somewhere in Q3 2014. This is what the devs seemed to be aiming for iirc.
