This filter is niggling me.
I used the word "n1ggle" in one of my posts today and was very surprised to see it censored.

This is a perfectly acceptable English noun or verb to describe a minor annoyance.
Why was it censored?
Apparently, my language filter is set to filter strong profanity and slurs.
That's fine, since my 11 year old son plays on my account too and sometimes reads the forums.
However, that doesn't explain how on Earth "a n1ggle" or "to n1ggle" is considered to be strong profanity or a slur.

Bumping this as I used the word "n1ggles" (replacing the 1 with an i) in a post on a games discussion page and it was confusingly filtered out.

I reported this to Steam Support and they replied saying they'll pass my feedback on and I can post here also, which is what I am doing.
Same here, it's a classic demonstration of how these things don't work, especially when you use wildcards. Wildcards are known to be a terrible approach, and there's even a name for this - "The Scunthorpe problem".
