I recommend that if you play the new 4 player co-op campaign where friends can drop in and out as needed, that for SimHQ User Group members who want tactical gameplay to use the same password, so when I see someone playing on my friends list, I'll be able to join in and visa versa... the password will be

"tactics".

(can't believe I'm still admin for this group, no one from SimHQ's new ownership wanted it. lol)

America's Army: Proving Grounds

America's Army returns with a new version, and a sub-title of "Proving Grounds". Now available on Steam, Free to Play.
Played a number of hours yesterday, and it grew on me. It's not the tactical title the orginial was, and the maps are much smaller, but the basics of Tactics and Teamwork are a must, along with communications. Free to play, so check it out, could be fun with friends. (Use that damn V key! it works. lol)

Tactical Intervention

From one of the creators of Counter-Strike, (and you can tell). Tactical Intervention was released today via Steam, Free to Play.
Downloaded, installed, played for 15 minutes, deleted. With all the other options we have, why would you want to play this? A game law should be that you can not have "Tactical" in your title, unless it really is a tactical shooter, not a action shooter.
Comsider yourselves warned. JMO ;)

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is pre-loading, out later today

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist is available for pre-load, should be unlocked later today. Looking forward to a little old school SC, mixed in with some new tools of the trade, like Spies vs, Mercs for one. ;) (At least, I hope.)

pCars now on Steam

If your a pCars member, when you look at your profile page at there web site, you'll see a steam key, enter that into your games/add steam key task bar within Steam and pCars will then begin downloading, in your steam account.

Supposedly better for updates/patches and user created content.
pCars is still in pre-alpha I believe, a race game by Slightly Mad Stidios that looks and sounds incredible, but still needs serious work on AI and presentation. BUT still a alpha build.

FYI friends... Ghost Recon Future Soldier for PC was released yesterday... based on my opinion and experiences, along with many other friends... it was released BROKEN. I would advise skipping it, waiting for a few patches, or waiting for it to be on sale... I'd say it's worth maybe 10 bucks as is. ;) IMO

OFP: Red River

So, did anyone from SimHQ get the Red River game when on X-mas sale? If so hit reply.

Red River, IMO, is a great fireteam based, 4 player co-op tactical shooter that rightfully so got a bad rap because of their history and support, well lack of support.

But if you can get it cheap, get three friends to play with, you'll have one hell of a virtual tactical experience.

So who got it?

ArmA2 patch

Major update to ArmA2 released today via Steam. Update your game, the SimHQ server will also be updated ASAP. In 2012 looking forward to more co-op tactical gameplay. See you there.

Skyrim

So it looks like Skyrim is a huge success for many members of this group. (Don't worry, I won't tell anyone... as I grab my 2 handed, frost enhanced battle ax and head into yet another unknown dungeon.) Steam/PC patch coming after T-day... carry on now, and good luck. ;)
