Remeber guys you can now sell a lot of in game items on the Steam Marketplace. The prices for items are already starting to tank so you might want to look into selling your old TF2 items that you're doing nothing with.

Minecraft

If you have not tried out Minecraft yet do yourself a favor and give it a try. There is a free watered down version at www.minecraft.net to get you started and the full game only costs $15(if you buy before beta). Mine, build, fight, get set on fire.

We have at least 4 LoF members who play already and it would be great to have even more. Spaz currently hosts a multiplayer server which should be open to most of the guys we know IRL(contact Spaz for rules/details).

The world is procedurally generated as you explore, so you never experience the same thing twice. Updates and features added on a regular basis. Check out the million or so youtube videos and tutorials and pick it up before they raise the price.

The Low Down on COD: Modern Warfare 2

I got this game for chirstmas and played the singleplayer for about 5 hours straight and beat it. Like always, amazing single player in cod games.

Now when I played multiplayer I can only think about how amazing this game is. It is probably one of the best multiplayers I have ever played. The new weapons, kill streak rewards, and detail in this game is unbelieveable. There is also new game types, some only offered to people level 16 (or 19 or something) and higher so that only people how know what they are doing can join. I like the game mode that is normal team deathmatch but without the 45 second break in between. When one ends the next loads up good for the hardcore player who doesn't want to stop.

I highly recommend everyone and anyone to go and check out this game. In my mind it is 100% worth it.

This game also has a new match making system so that your not a private getting matched with 10 prestige generals. Everyone is in the same boat.

This game can easily be a great game for us to get hooked on as there is easy party joining on servers so that we make it on the same team each game.

Let me know if you get this game (I know conk, and justin have it already), I will gladly play with ya.

As we all know the ever anticipated MW2 will be coming out very soon. We're merely weeks away from 11-10-09, and I was sorta wondering firstly: who will be buying it, and how. Steam or no Steam?

And second: We need to get our LAN on after it comes out! =p

Getting a Battlefield Heroes beta key

Reminder: {LoF} Teamspeak Server still active

Hey there fellow {LoF} gamers!

A number of L4D and TF2 updates ago, I mentioned I brought up the {LoF} Teamspeak (TS) server from an unfortunate situation with a bad Uninteruptible Power Supply unit, or UPS as we call them in IT-land. That has been replaced a ways back, but I needed to let you all know that this solution only covers continuous power to my networking equipment during an outage, not to the actual TS server.

So I wanted to ask, since we are a fairly large group of techs: If anyone has a spare UPS that is not in use, doesn't matter how small it is; LET ME KNOW!

The server uses very minimal power (not even a monitor on it), so it wouldn't need much to keep it up during a power flicker. Since people haven't used it much, I really didn't have a need for something like this. But if people actually start using it, (which I hope everyone will) I would need to implement a battery backup solution to make it more reliable.

On that note, I encourage everyone to keep in touch, and sign in to the {LoF} TS server for voicechat! I just added in a couple extra game channels (BF2, BF Heroes, COD:WAW, and an AFK channel), so join up and let the other guys know what you're playing, even if you're connected to the AFK channel, we still know you're alive and well ;-)

With that, here is the {LoF} TS Server info:

*Quick Connect
~ Server Address: 24.46.232.239:8767
~ Nickname: Your name goes here
~ Password: brainwash

* Registration on the TS server is open to all users, for monitoring / user management and permissions purposes. After you register, you need to login to the TS server using the account name and password you created. (Don't forget it, or you'll be punished raped by the skittles rabbit!)

If you don't have the TS Client installed, you have to download the most recent version of it, (http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads) and join in the VOIP fun!

As a side note, the TS server runs in my basement, so even though it can get hot out, (which it will now as we head into the summer) it's usually significantly cooler down there. My workstation in my bedroom is a different story.. I need to get some A/C in here!

Call of Duty World at War

I got COD WAW for christmas and the game is great. I started playing yesterday and its a lot of fun. Nice change from cod4 which is still a great game. (Conk knows that :) ) Anyway, I wanted to tell you guys to go and get it since its such a good game. Let me know if you get it. I'm sure there will be a good enough number of members who have the game so that we can support it as one of our games such as Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2. Message me if you have the game or plan to so we can play!
