I'm not really a Sonic fan or anything, was only looking for a "Mario Kart" type game for PC, but this game is WAY MORE than that. So damn amazing!

8/10 There are too few game props, very few maps, and otherwise nothing bad

Fun game, but I paid for the season pass only to discover none of the DLC characters actually race themselves. Unless you plan on playing as them, they're essentially not in the game

Spanky the Hedgehoagie once again proves competent in the kart-racing scene. The "CrossWorlds" gimmick is pretty cool, and is also a great way to tie in the myriad of DLC racers lore-wise. I do wish though that the CrossWorld-exclusive tracks were playable as full normal courses. As it is, they only appear during the second lap of races and in time trials.

The game's biggest flaw is that none of the huge roster of DLC and post-launch crossover characters have any voice lines. There's some great banter between the initial 23 characters, but anyone added after launch (except Hatsune Miku) is mute. This is especially rough for characters like SpongeBob and Patrick, who are eerily soulless without voices. Apparently it's because the third-party approval process for character dialog is a bureaucratic nightmare, or something. There's a free mod out there called "Speak, DLC!" that adds voice lines for all of them that are sourced from other media they've been in, and I consider it an absolute must-have. It works in all game modes, including online. All it does is switch out the generic NPC sound effects on each character for that character's actual voice lines.
